8 ways to compare and contrast to pass your test

Could you compare the pets below using these ways to compare and contrast?

  2. difference / similarity (NOUN)

  3. In contrast,

  4. differ (VERB) / different (ADJECTIVE)

  5. Similarly, / Likewise,

  7. However, / On the other hand,

  1. Unlike cats, dogs can be very friendly and loyal.

  2. Dogs, cats and rabbits share several similarities. The main one is they all have fur.

  3. Dogs, cats and rabbits all have fur. In contrast, birds have feathers.

  4. Dogs are different to cats in that they are more loyal to their owner.

  5. Budgies (birds) make great pets because they don't demand your time. Similarly, bunnies (rabbits) also can be kept in a cage and they don't need a lot of attention. In contrast, dogs need walking and interaction with their owners.

  6. While cats are solitary animals, dogs enjoy interaction with their humans.

  7. Bunnies are much-loved pets in England. However, owning a domestic rabbit is not permitted.

  8. Dogs are much more energetic and playful than other pets.
